Leave vs. Stay

Leave and stay are interesting words.

Although they have the opposite meanings, some Korean speakers seem to be confused.

  1. I’ll leave my stuff here. (내 물건을 여기에 남겨 두겠다.)
  2. I’ll leave here. (난 여기를 떠나겠다.)
  3. I’ll stay here. (난 여기에 남겠다.)

The confusion may come from the first two cases.
